The Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO) are offering up to 40 fully funded scholarships for doctoral studies in China. This prestigious scholarship aims to train and cultivate young scientists from developing countries.
Ten of the scholarships will be prioritized for recipients engaged in climate-related research. Special consideration will also be given to applicants from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and women.
The scholarship is comprehensive and covers:
Full Tuition Waiver
Monthly Stipend: 6,000 or 7,000 CNY/month (up to 48 months, amount depends on qualification test result)
Health Insurance
Application Fee Waiver
International Travel Allowance: One-time ticket from your home country to China.
One-time Visa
Applicants must meet the following criteria for the PhD program:
Must NOT hold Chinese citizenship.
Be a national of an eligible developing country in the South.
Be proficient in English or Chinese.
Born after January 1, 1991 (inclusive).
Hold a minimum degree of MSc (Master of Science).
Meet the admission criteria for international students of USTC/UCAS.
Must NOT be currently pursuing a doctoral degree at any university/institution in China.
The application process is managed through the host universities' admission systems.
Visit the admission system for either the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) or the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). (Note: You cannot apply to both simultaneously).
File and submit your application through the chosen university's system.
During the application, you must choose “the CAS-ANSO Scholarship” and then check the box to be considered for the “ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship.”
