The Commonwealth Master's Scholarships, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), offer an opportunity for mid-career professionals and brilliant students from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to pursue a fully-funded Master's degree in the UK.

Key Focus and Goals

This program aims to support talented candidates who will contribute to sustainable development and promote economic stability and peace in their home countries. The scholarships are offered under six main development themes:

  1. Science And Technology For Development
  2. Strengthening Health Systems & Capacity
  3. Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  4. Strengthening Global Peace, Security & Governance
  5. Strengthening Resilience & Response To Crises
  6. Access, Inclusion & Opportunity

Financial Coverage (Fully Funded)

The scholarship is comprehensive and includes:

  • Full tuition fees.
  • Monthly stipend of £1,452 or £1,781 (depending on the location of study).
  • Airfare (return economy ticket) from the home country to the UK.
  • Allowances for warm clothing, thesis/dissertation costs, and study travel grants.
  • Additional allowance for disabled persons and a supplementary allowance for single, divorced, or widowed parents with children under 16.

Eligibility and Application

  • Location: United Kingdom (at various top UK universities).
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents (or a British-protected person/refugee) of an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Academic Requirement: Must have a first degree of at least Upper Second-Class (2:1) honors standard (or a Second-Class degree plus a relevant postgraduate qualification).
  • Important Note: The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) does not accept direct applications. Candidates must apply through a National Nominating Agency or an authorized Non-Governmental/Charitable organization in their home country.
  • Deadline: October 14, 2025 (for the application to the CSC's online portal).
